This free four day workshop offers theatre training for young people aged 14-24 years. Suitable for all levels of experience, it will be led by professional tutors from the Massive teaching team. You will learn theatre foundation skills and techniques, and explore different ways of making theatre pieces using your own ideas and stories. The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm each day at Te Oro in Glen Innes.

Sam Scott and Kura Forrester


Sam Scott is the founder and Artistic Director of Massive Theatre Company. She has been directing and teaching in New Zealand and internationally for over 30 years, and was the founder of Theatresports in Schools in 1990. Sam has a passion for acting, devising, building community through telling stories, and helping young people to find a sense of self and confidence through theatre.

Kura Forrester joined Massive Company in 2008 as an actor in ‘Whero’s New Net,’ going on to perform in ‘Havoc in the Garden’ and ‘The Wholehearted.’ She took part in the Director’s Lab in 2015, was co-director of Massive’s 2018 emerging artist’s show ‘Sightings,’ and is currently working on a new stand up comedy show for 2019. Kura is looking forward to being a cast member of Massive’s 2019 show ‘Half of the Sky.’
