Massive Company's professional development for teachers working with young people

massive Teacher workshopS

All workshops are run by Sam Scott MNZM, Founder and Artistic Director of Massive Company. Our 2019 workshops run from November 15-22 in Auckland, Tauranga, Napier and Dunedin.

2019 Teacher workshops registrations NOW OPEN

These workshops are designed for teachers of young people but are also perfect for theatre practitioners with a particular interest in devising. The workshops are designed so you are both actively involved and observational.

The workshop will focus on processes you can use to make vibrant, bold, relevant theatre pieces with your students.

We may re-endorse some of the key fundamental skills and techniques which Massive Company places at the heart of its work, but it will always be with a fresh approach and application.

Fee: $120 + GST. Concessions are available on a case by case basis - please apply on the registration form.

This fee covers the workshop, individualised support, teacher notes, and access to videos and education packs.

“This is the best Professional Development I access each year, and I always come away inspired and excited to create new content for my students. Sam is an amazing facilitator who is genuinely interested in developing each teacher’s skills, and is so open with her resources.”
“A Massive Company workshop will reignite your own creative ‘fighting spirit,’ so that you can encourage the rangatahi in your classes to do the same.”
“Generating performance material, using the carefully scaffolded structures that Sam with Massive Theatre advocates, makes the process readily accessible for the classroom teacher to use or adapt. The strategies appear deceptively simplistic whilst at the same time resonate with depth and nuance.”
“It’s so exciting to get new and different ideas for working with teenagers in the performing arts. I left the Massive workshop excited to go back to work and try new ideas, especially for boys in my year 9 class. Sam Scott has been inspiring me for over a decade and I highly, highly recommend attending if you can!”
