Sam is the founder of Massive Company, and has directed for the company over that time, spanning more than 25 years. Aside from directing, she delivers workshops to young people, emerging artists and teachers, plus trains tutors and directors within the company.
Grant has been with Massive Company since 2015. He is a strategic thinker with extensive project management experience. Associate Director for Strange Fruit (Australia), wide international touring and partnership management. Co-director for Graeae Theatre, forefront disabled-led theatre in the UK. Segment director for the London2012 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony. Energetic leader and facilitator of excellent theatre.
Amanda started with Massive in November 2017. She comes from a background of theatre directing, devising and producing her own work. She has been carving a life in theatre since graduating from Toi Whakaai in 1990.
Sally Markham MNZM, 1943-2013, was Massive Company’s patron, long time champion and collaborator. When Sally passed away, she generously left Massive Company funds from her estate to go towards benefiting young people in the performing arts and this is the basis of The Markham Grant.
This grant is about celebrating her life and all it entailed.
