Kia Puāwai (‘to bring something to blossom’) is a co-production between Massive Theatre Company and Auckland Arts Festival, performed in March 2020. With a large cast made up of year 11-13 students from five South Auckland schools (McCauley High, De La Salle College, Tangaroa College, Rosehill College and Ormiston Senior College), the devised show begins development in July 2019 and opens at Mangere Arts Centre in March, 2020.



JULY: Introductory talks to schools with co-directors and Massive’s Artistic Director Sam Scott
JULY/AUGUST: Introductory and audition workshops within schools
SEPTEMBER: First cast workshop
DECEMBER: Week-long devising workshop with cast


JANUARY-MARCH: Devising and rehearsal period
MARCH 18-28: Performance season at Mangere Arts Centre
