This free three day workshop offers theatre training for young people aged 14-24 years. Suitable for all levels of experience, it’s led by professional tutors from the Massive teaching team. You will learn a wide range of theatre foundation skills and techniques, and explore different ways of making theatre pieces using your own ideas and stories. The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm each day at Te Oro in Glen Innes.
TUTORS: Sam Scott and Margaret-Mary Hollins
Sam Scott is the founder and Artistic Director of Massive Theatre Company. She has been directing and teaching in New Zealand and internationally for over 30 years. Sam has a passion for acting, devising, building community through telling stories, and helping young people to find a sense of self and confidence through theatre.
Margaret-Mary Hollins is an experienced actor, director and tutor who has been involved with Massive since its early days as Maidment Youth Theatre. As well as being a guest tutor on many Massive productions, she tutors on the Massive Nui Ensemble emerging artists’ programme. Outside of Massive, she has recently been working with Auckland Theatre Company, MIXIT and Red Leap. Margaret-Mary is the Artistic Director of Marvellous Theatre Group and House of Hudson, with whom she is currently developing a new work, ‘The Lights Out Project.’
