This free four day workshop offers theatre training for young people aged 14-24 years. Suitable for all levels of experience, it’s led by professional tutors from the Massive teaching team. You will learn a wide range of theatre foundation skills and techniques, and explore different ways of making theatre pieces using your own ideas and stories. The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm each day.
TUTORS: Margaret-Mary Hollins and Ebony Andrew
Margaret-Mary Hollins is an experienced actor, director and tutor who has been involved with Massive since its early days as Maidment Youth Theatre. As well as being a guest tutor on many Massive productions, she is a tutor with Massive Nui Ensemble. Outside of Massive, she has recently been working with Auckland Theatre Company, MIXIT and Red Leap. Margaret-Mary is the Artistic Director of Marvellous Theatre Group and House of Hudson, with whom she is currently developing a new work, ‘The Lights Out Project.’.
Ebony Andrew has been a member of Massive Company since 2014, when she took part in her first Foundations workshop. A year later she joined Massive Nui Ensemble and has been an active member ever since. Ebony has performed in two of our emerging artists’ productions – the 2017 devised show ‘Chance to Ignite,’ and ‘Sightings.’ This year Ebony is the assistant director of ‘Babble,’ performing in AAF 2020.
