Tutor Sam Scott
Massive Company Professional Development for Teachers working with young people, and Theatre Practitioners interested in devising work.
Following on from our 2017 National tour of The Wholehearted this workshop will focus on devising practices used in making this production.
Specifically we will focus on:
- How to ‘bust up’ a story and investigate its theatrical possibilities. We will be using this process as a way of showing how you might move students expectations of how they can think about a story and how they can explore it using a multitude of theatrical approaches.
- Create a small piece of work from this ‘bust up’ process in pairs. We will be encouraging choices in making a piece of work that work away from the TV scenario or other more familiar ways of thinking about performance.
- Ensemble building techniques using physicality. We will share some ways we work on ensemble building within Massive and make some ensemble based movement.
You will be supplied with a link to the vimeo of The Wholehearted to observe prior to the workshop.
