About Us

Founded in 1991, Massive Theatre Company is a multigenerational ensemble physical theatre company. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, we are active across Aotearoa (New Zealand) and internationally. 

For decades, Massive has forged a performing arts development pathway that provides opportunities for rangatahi from age 15 years to learn, train, perform, teach and be excellent artists. We provide ongoing mentoring and development to support our community members as they become professional artists and creatives. 

This tuakana-teina learning model of theatre is unmatched in Aotearoa and does not exist in many other places internationally. Within the performing arts industry, Massive is recognised as a core provider of performing arts training across the motu.
