Based outside of Aotearoa, New Zealand? We offer our programme internationally!
Our experienced Teaching Artists will travel to you and deliver a tailor-made programme to suit your theatre-making or professional development needs.
The Massive International offering is a bespoke programme, designed specifically for you and your participants.
We will travel to you from New Zealand, working alongside you to develop a workshop programme with our experienced Teaching Artists.
AGE: We cater our programme to be able to serve a number of different age ranges and can work with you to create content for those aged 13-99.
PROGRAMME LENGTH: In order to ensure the most value for money from the experience with travel-time and costs to consider - our international offering suits a minimum programme period of 5 days, but can be created for a longer deliver period of 2-3 weeks should you require it.
CONTENT: Massive Theatre Company has more than three decades specialising in teaching devising processes for theatre-making, in which participants learn how to create work using their own relevant and meaningful content. If you are interested in other areas of theatre craft and processes (including professional development for teachers and leaders, or directing mentoring), we will design a programme to suit.
Artistic Director Sam Scott consults with you to design the best possible theatre programme for your needs. They are often used as a one-off experience of our practice, which may go on to influence participants' future devising projects. They are also useful at the beginning of a devising unit of work, to get participants generating material and thinking around how and what they might create.
Massive International is a bespoke, theatre programme designed for organisations outside of Aotearoa, New Zealand. It’s tailored to each organisation's needs, with Massive Theatre Company working directly with you to create multi-day workshops that support participants' learning, creativity, and performance goals.
Content of our programme can be tailored to suit specific goals and may cover devising theatre, ensemble work, physical theatre, scholarship preparation, exploration of existing Massive Theatre Company productions, professional development for leaders/teachers, and/or directing mentorship. Regardless of the focus, participants will learn about creating original theatre the 'Massive Way' and will be supported to draw from their own ideas and experiences. Our programmes focus on creativity, collaboration, & practical theatre-making skills, helping participants develop confidence & a deeper understanding of performance.
Massive International Programmes are flexible and fully customised, ranging from five-day to multi-week residencies. They include pre-programme consultation, on-location delivery by experienced teaching artists, and follow-up support which is delivered remotely from New Zealand.
