Curious Lab

Curious Lab typically takes place at our wharenui in Grey Lynn (Tāmaki Makaurau). The Lab runs for a number of days a few times a year, and participants might come for some or all of the sessions.

Curious Labs are practical, physically-active, and create a space for self-directed performing work to take place.

This Lab is aimed at our professional, more senior Company Members, who often find that in working on acting or directing jobs they don’t get that time to explore and discover in the creative space as much as they would like. They might want to have a go at directing a group devising something, or work on a monologue they have always wanted to do. They might bring some writing which they want to test out with others or write in the room with ideas from the resource tables.

The Office of Curiosity is a casual monthly 3-hour session that typically happens in person at our wharenui in Grey Lynn (Tāmaki Makaurau).

The Office of Curiosity is for anyone within Massive Theatre Company (& anyone in the wider creative community who is interested).

Artistic Director, Sam Scott invites attendees to join in reading, watching or listening to material that feeds their hearts and minds. Each session responds and evolves depending on who attends and what people want to share.
