Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any experience to join a workshop?

Not at all! All of our workshops are designed to welcome people of all experience levels. We believe everyone has stories to tell and unique perspectives to share.

What should I bring to a workshop?

Just bring yourself, some kai, comfortable clothes you can move in, and an open mind. We provide all materials and create a supportive environment for exploration and creativity.

Are workshops only available in Auckland, New Zealand?

While many of our workshops are held at our Wharenui in Auckland, we also offer workshops and Massive Making at venues around Aotearoa.

Our International Programme can travel to your location across the globe.

I have specific access needs / physical limitations. Can I still take part in a workshop?

Absolutely! Regardless of whether you have a long-term impairment, or are recovering from an injury, our teaching artists are trained to make workshops as accessible as possible. Simply let us know more about you when registering (or get in touch with us ahead of registering) and we will do our best to ensure the workshop is rewarding, accessible, and caters to your abilities.

How do I register for a free or koha workshop?

Register quickly and easily through our website. Once registered, we'll keep you updated on your upcoming workshop and send you a reminder prior to the day.

Can I attend just part of a workshop?

You must be able to attend all days in full in order to register. This is to ensure you, all other participants, and our teaching artists can enjoy the full benefit of the workshop. However we do have an open door policy, which means if you want to come observe part of a workshop (and not take part) to see how it works and what Massive is all about, you are most welcome!
