Frequently Asked Questions

What are Massive Foundations workshops and who are they for?

Massive Foundations workshops are free theatre workshops for young people aged or 15–25, designed for all experience levels. Participants explore acting, improvisation, and movement while creating original performance work from their own stories in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Do I need acting experience to join Massive Foundations?

No experience is required. Massive Foundations workshops are open to complete beginners through to those with prior drama or performance experience. Foundations workshops are accessible to anyone interested in building confidence, creativity, and performance skills.

What will I learn in a Massive Foundations workshop?

You’ll learn core theatre-making skills including acting, improvisation, movement, and devising original work using your own ideas and experiences. The workshops also focus on building confidence, connecting with other performers, and developing a strong stage presence.

I have specific access needs / physical limitations. Can I still take part in a workshop?

Of course! We do our best to make workshops accessible. It helps if you tell us about your specific needs when signing up for a particular workshop (or reach out before booking if you prefer) and we will do our best to ensure the workshop is rewarding, accessible, and caters to your abilities.

Can I partially attend a Foundations workshop?

No. Foundations are only available for participants who are able to attend all days in full. Our free workshops are very popular and we want participants who are fully committed to the experience.

How do I cancel my booking?

If you have booked and can no longer attend please contact us as soon as possible at info@massivecompany.co.nz. We often have waiting lists for our workshops, so the sooner you let us know that you can't attend the more likely we are to be able to offer the spot to someone else.
