Te Ao Hou (The New World) is brought to life by a collective of emerging artists, and the vision for the show was to create a fusion of movement and emotion to challenge the boundaries of the past and future. The piece dares to imagine a world without limitations, and poses the question of who we could be if we freed our imaginations.

Te Ao Hou is an outstanding piece of devising – cohesive, clearly collaborative, rich in content, and swamped in manaaki – a compassion that is generously shared with an appreciative audience. Did we love it? Yes, we did. We cherished the performers, the creatives, and the techies. They made us do it, it was intentional. We loved the beautifully interwoven narratives, that unique humour that so effectively mellows the pain, and especially we loved the gentle relationships with the grannies and the grandpas, the koros and the kuias, and the tūpuna who are never far away.

"Been coming to Massive's shows since 2011 and am still blown away by the vulnerability and passion! Te Ao Hou is unlike any other Massive show I've seen."
"Miharo! Such a heartwarming weaving of stories. Loved the vulnerability. The gentleness and the laughs were awesome. Could have watched the extended version!"
"So good! Loved the use of live music and the great connection between actors."
