Massive Theatre Company’s latest professional theatre production takes to the stage this July 2026.
HOME MADE, celebrates the people, places and moments that shape our sense of home.
Premiering at Te Pou Theatre in Tāmaki Makaurau from 22 to 25 July, before heading to ONEONESIX from 29 to 31 July, HOME MADE is a vibrant love letter to belonging.
At its heart are five up-and-coming artists - Manunui Rainey, Māui Hitchens, Phoebe Rayneau, Tom Webster and Tyla Tuala-Vaimasenu'u. Each brings their own answer to what home looks, sounds, and feels like.
Currently the cast and creative team are deep in the devising process. It is, we figured, the perfect time, to ask them to share their own definitions of home!

"sitting on the couch watching television and catching up with my flat mates after a long day of work.
Manunui Rainey
It’s as simple as that.”

"where I can relax. It’s my whānau and my friends.”
Māui Hitchens

“always sitting in the exact same spots
Phoebe Rayneau
around the dinner table.”

“being handed a meal you didn’t ask for,
Tom Webster
as you rush out the door.”

“being able to sit comfortably in silence. Never having to explain yourself. Just be.
Tyla Tuala-Vaimasenu'u
Home to me is my people.”
Following the success of Massive’s 2024 production Te Ao Hou, HOME MADE turns its attention to the experiences and memories that define us. Using Massive’s critically-acclaimed creative process, the show is an exploration of life’s wonderfully loud moments, and the soft moments that make it worth living. There’s nothing like the ‘Massive way’ to bring fresh energy, new ideas, and real vigour to the stage, and
HOME MADE embraces exactly that.
Playful and heartfelt, the cast contemplate: where does your heart live,
and who does it call home?
